Rock Renaissance???

Where have they been all these years? It just seemed like they were about to fade away only for the older generation to remember when legendary bands like Metallica, G'n'R, and AC/DC decided to make a stunning comeback with outstanding fresh new hits, worldwide tours, and record sales!
It seemed as if the rise of democracy in China was more realistic than the release of the album, but after 14 years of delays, Guns'n'Roses 's long awaited Album "Chinese Democracy" had finaly been released last month after singer Axl Rose settled many financial disputes entangled within the album itself. Die-Hard G'n'R fans across the globe rejoiced. It could have been a lot worse, but many argue that the timing of the release was right. Just in its first two weeks, the first single, "Chinese democracy" hit number nine in hard rock radio. It looks like its gonna sell for a long time.
Other new albums like AC/DC's "Black Ice" sold more than 1 million copies in two weeks, and Metallica's "Death Magnetic" has moved more than 1.25 million copies since it came out 2 months ago. Hopefully, more bands decide to follow with already expected upcoming albums from U2, Tool, and Franz Ferdinand!

  1. Chinese Democracy wasn't all that hot in my opinion, but Black Ice and Death Magnetic saw the comeback of two great bands. Specially Metallica, who hasn't made a decent album in ages.

  2. I understand it didnt deliver as much as was expected, but the point is it was released at a right time and it sold as much as 1.5 million albums in its first week!

  3. Wow i cant believe that you can truly say that Chinese Democracy, Black Ice and Death Magnetic were actually good first of all Chinese Democracy didnt even include Slash, Death Magnetic is a disgrace almost as bad as Saint Anger, and Black Ice is just AC/DC trying to be The Rolling Stones a.k.a a group of dinasours trying to be rockers.

  4. Im not saying they were amazing, but i am saying that those three albums were a moajor comback for those bands, which in turn was better than not releasing anything at all. The record sales also say alot!

  5. Wow I can't believe you said Death Magnetic was a disgrace and Black Ice was bad (although it IS a group of dinosaurs BEING rockers). You can say whatever you want about Chinese Democracy, it was a general bad album, Slash was a great guitar player, but thats not an argument.

The fact that Chinese Democracy came as it was is the fact that it is impossible to work with Axl Rose, the fact that it took a decade to come with the album is good indication. Yes, the talent GNR lineup before and after they changed the drummer, probably one of the biggest aspects as to why it didn't sound like GNR, but it doesn't make it a bad album. What does make it a bad album is the fact is the diversity the whole band faced, Axl not being the same as he was back then, and 10 years making an album don't allow for a whole continuity feeling. This wasn't a masterpiece, It was a project they gave up on and simply threw in the market.

  6. The old stuff is the best. Its not just one of those fads that people get over in three hours, these bands are forever. AC/DC is amazing, their concert was phenomenal, I don't know how those old guys do it, but they do.
